Asbestos Management Surveys, Remedial Works & Removal
An asbestos management survey forms the basis of an Asbestos Management Plan. Asbestos surveys are often still referred to as type 1, type 2, type 3 asbestos surveys, reports, risk assessments, registers or databases. Whatever terminology used all asbestos surveys should now be completed to HSG 264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide methodology. The former MDHS 100 is no defunct although much of the asbestos survey methodology remains the same. Type 1 and 2 Asbestos Surveys are now referred to as an Asbestos Management Survey. Type 3 Asbestos Surveys are now referred to as Asbestos Refurbishment Surveys and Asbestos Pre-Demolition Surveys. A combination of both asbestos management survey and asbestos refurbishment survey may be required if you plan to complete refurbishments, extensions or partial demolition of a building. Before a building is demolished a full asbestos pre-demolition survey will be required to ensure all asbestos materials are removed prior to demolition.
